At Escape Climbing, we are looking for innovative ways that we can help you create a safe environment for your customers. While liquid chalk does not take the place of a Hand Sanitizer, we formulated our liquid chalk to give it the best likelihood of improving hand hygiene. Our liquid chalk contains greater than 60% alcohol by volume.
Liquid chalk doesn't take the place of handwashing or social distancing, but we believe that a high alcohol liquid chalk can be an important supplementary part of your plan as you encourage climber hygiene in your facility.
Liquid Chalk is not a Hand Sanitizer: The CDC recommends using alcohol-based hand rub with greater than 60% ethanol or 70% isopropanol to supplement handwashing. As an over-the-counter drug product hand sanitizer must be tested for efficacy and approved by the FDA, liquid chalk has not received this testing or approval.
