Get the most for your money with Factory Seconds…discounted WAY below retail pricing. Climbing holds that do not make the cut for “New” are considered Factory Seconds. Often the holds have color or texture imperfections. All climbing hold seconds are completely functional and ready to bolt or screw on the wall. Each set will have a variety of sizes, styles, and colors. These may include our other brands (Kingdom, Working Class, Fusion, Friction) or wood holds too!

Looking for some sweet holds to keep your homewall fresh on the cheap? Let us know the wall angle and the style of holds you prefer (jugs, pinches, footholds, screw-ons, super nasty crimps, etc) in the comments and we will do our best to find them for you, but remember, they are already produced Factory Seconds and we are limited by what is currently in stock.
If we have overstock we often sell them as seconds to clear out inventory. The production guys have been known to play around with fun color combinations to spice up the seconds bin every once in a while too. Offering seconds is just one way we like to serve climbing gyms on a budget!
We just made our home wall and need to fill it up with holds! So happy to have come across Escapes factory seconds AND monthly subscription. We’ve already recieved our first orders and we are so happy we went with escape. The factory seconds look just as good as the new subscription ones! And we are very excited to see what we get each month through our subscription. They also break down your savings each month with the subscription with is great to see.
I ordered 15lb factory seconds holds from Escape Climbing, fully understanding they might include cosmetic flaws like scuffs, chips, or color variations. However, among the holds I received, two had set screw holes that were not drilled through properly which are used to prevents spinning (see attached photo)
This type of defect was not mentioned as an acceptable flaw in the factory seconds description. When I contacted support, I was told that it’s “common” for screw holes to be filled or undrilled — which is not true based on my experience purchasing multiple other brands.
This is a safety issue, and support suggested I drill the holes myself. I don’t have the tools or the expertise to safely do that, nor do I want to risk cracking the holds. I requested replacements for the defective holds but never received a follow-up response.
Additionally, I received many duplicate holds, including several identical XL pieces, which makes me feel like the box was packed to reach the weight rather than to provide variety. (See attached photo.)
I had bought a bunch of smaller holds from Escape and was looking some big feature holds to balance things out, in steps the 25lb Escape factory seconds box. I left a note with what I was hoping for and Escape sent me exactly that. Large Jugs, Beefy Pinches and pockets. Super excited. Thanks, Escape!
I asked for holds for my new wall and they gave me a great variety of hold types. I got 32 hold in the 15 pounder
The escape team delivered exactly what I asked for - small to medium holds for my basement wall :) only complaint I have is that there were not enough long bolts for the thicker holds.
